Chowdhary has clarified that 7th CPC Pay Matrix (7th CPCs Pay metric) can be reviewed from time to time without waiting for a long period of 10 years as per the Chairman of 7th Pay Commission. But Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief for Central Government employees and pensioners are not calculated on the basis of Inflationary Wholesale Price Index (WPI) but All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) issued by Ministry of Labor and Employment, Labor Bureau Shimla. According to the rate of inflation is determined. In such a situation, the increase in DA and DR for employees and pensioners will not go according to WPI but according to the figures of AICPI-IW.
