COVID-19: Schools continue to remain closed upto class 10th

The government Sunday said that all government and private schools upto 10th standard will continue to remain closed for in-person education till further orders.

“The schools except for relaxations for students of 12th and 10th classes shall continue to remain closed for on-site or in-person teaching,” the government said.

The government also said that students of 10th and 12th standard will continue to obtain physical academic activities on the given day with a limit of only fifty percent vaccinated students and staff.
Besides, the private coaching centers providing education of Civil Services, Engineering and NEET will continue to impart in-person education with limited teaching for fully vaccinated staff and students.

The State Executive Committee (SEC) in an order said that the students of these classes shall obtain consent from their parents to attend the school.
“Classes for 12th standard shall be permitted with limited in-person teaching not exceeding 50 percent on a given day for vaccinated students and staff consent shall be obtained from the parents of all students who are willing to attend the school,” SEC said.

The government also directed the authorities to sanitize the school premises thoroughly. “Proper screening regarding vaccination should be done on the school gates.”
The SEC said that if students or the teachers or other school staff shows symptoms of cough, cold or fever, they will not be allowed to enter the school.

It also said that the head of the schools must ensure that the guidelines related to social distancing and COVID-19 protocols are strictly followed
“Limited in-person teaching of students of 10th class, not exceeding 50 percent on any given day and after ensuring compliance with COVID Appropriate Behavior by the school authorities can be permitted by concerned Deputy Commissioners after due screening through 100 percent Rapid Antigen Test or RT-PCR, subject to consent of parents and students,” reads the SEC order.

“Coaching Centres for civil services, engineering and NEET shall be permitted with limited in-person teaching for fully vaccinated staff and students subject to condition that the head of the centres shall ensure that the guidelines related to social distancing and COVID-19 protocols are adhered to,” SEC said.

The order further reads that all other coaching centres except those providing for Civil Services, Engineering and NEET education shall continue to remain closed for on-site or in-person teaching.
In the meantime, SEC said that the higher educational institutions shall be permitted to commence limited in-person teaching subject to 100 percent vaccination of staff and students and specific permission of concerned Deputy Commissioners.

“The Head of these institutions must ensure that the guidelines related to social distancing and COVID-19 protocols are adhered to. Educational institutions shall be permitted to direct attendance of vaccinated staff for administrative purposes only,” it reads.

The SEC further said that the entry into parks will be permitted to vaccinated persons only with due verification.

Besides, the government said that night curfew shall continue to remain in force in all districts from 8 pm to 7 am but for those districts with positivity rate below 0.2 and weekly case load below 250 where it would be from 10 pm to 6 am.
“All Deputy Commissioners shall focus on the positivity rates of the medical-blocks under their jurisdictions and intensify measures related to COVID-19 management and restriction of activities shall be undertaken by the DCs in these blocks,” the government said. (Rising Kashmir)
