Daily wagers, others of Jal Shakti deptt protest in Jammu

Jammu, Mar 14 (KNO): Authorities on Monday foiled the protest march by the daily wagers and casual labourers of Jal Shakti department of Jammu and Kashmir in favour of their demands of regularization.

A large number of daily wagers, need base workers, casual laborers and others from different areas of Jammu zone assembled at Jammu City and staged a protest.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the protesters tried to move towards Lieutenant Governor’s house, however, their attempt was foiled by police.

Earlier, the protesting employees said that every single worker is working hard round-the-clock to keep the Water Supply Scheme functional but are being deprived of their basic rights like regularisation.

They said that the government has come up with a regularisation policy but the work on it is going on at snail’s pace and future of thousands of them across the Union Territory—(KNO)
