GATE 2022 Postponement: Plea filed in Supreme Court to postpone GATE, hearing tomorrow

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, GATE 2022 exam postponement plea has been mentioned before the Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana led bench by a group of students. CJI has said to list the plea. A report has mentioned that NV Ramana led bench will hear GATE 2022 postponement plea tomorrow as the exam is scheduled to be conducted on February 5, 6 in offline mode.

As per the report, advocate Pallav Mongia presented the plea in Supreme court on behalf of the students and seeked an urgent hearing on the case.

Students have been demanding to postpone the postgraduate admission test, GATE, for a long time on social media. However, authorities have not considered the request and so far no announcement to postpone the GATE exam has been made. Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Kharagpur released the GATE 2022 admit card on January 15 as per the set schedule.

In a GATE 2022 Exam postponement poll conducted by Times Now, 91% students voted to postpone the exam and massive responses regarding the same were received on social media.Students are citing COVID-19 cases surge as the reason for their demand to postpone the examination.

GATE 2022: Exam schedule

GATE 2022 exam will be held on February 5, 6, 12 and 13. The exam will be conducted in two shifts, from 9:00 am to 12 noon and from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

GATE 2022 exam will be postponed?

GATE 2022 postponement cannot be confirmed as of now because no official communique in this regard has been shared yet. However, a decision can be announced after the hearing on a plea seeking postponement filed in the court. If the hearring gets extended or CJI says to hold the exam then GATE 2022 can be postponed.
