Two-way traffic to ply on Sgr-Jmu highway tomorrow

Qazigund, Feb 08 (KNO): The 270 kilometer-long stretch SrinagJammu national highway, shall remain open for both way traffic on Wednesday, traffic authorities said.

Traffic authorities as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that on 09-02-2022, subject to fair weather and better road conditions LMVs(passenger)/private cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar highway viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.

“TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.”

They said cut off for LMVs/private cars from Nagrota (Jammu) will be at 0700 hours to 1200 hours, from Jakheni (Udhampur) at 0800 hours to 1300 hours and from Navyug Tunnel (Qazigund side) 0800 hours to 1300 hours “(subject to change depending on the road position then)” adding that no vehicle shall be allowed before and after cut off timings.

About HMVs/Load carriers, he said, “subject to fair weather and better road conditions, they shall be allowed from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) towards Jammu after assessing the traffic situation on highway.” He said TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the highway.

“Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. They may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of NHW,” authorities said.
