J&K :13 students tested Positive in University, Admin Orders Closure of Campus
Closure of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Kakryal (Katra) in view of spike in COVID-19 cases.

Whereas, this office vide order No. 51-DC(RSi) of 2021 dated 03-09-2021 issued under endorsement No. DM/RSi/21-22/JC/3078-92 dated 03-09-2021 has allowed Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Kakryal (Katra) to conduct offline classes by adhering to the Covid protocols in pursuance of the guidelines issued by the J&K State Executive Committee; and
Whereas, Chief Medical Officer Reasi has intimated that during the Covid Tests conducted in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Kakryal (Katra) Campus on 31 December
2021 & 1s January 2022 a total 13 students have been tested positive; and
Whereas, vide No. BMO/K/N/1087-88 dated 01-01-2022 it has been requested for closure of the said University, to contain further spread of the disease; and
Whereas, it has been found expedient to close Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University,
Kakryal (Katra) to contain the spread of disease and ensure safety of the students and general
public.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested in me under National Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Epidemic Diseases Act 1897, I, Charandeep Singh, JKAS, District Magistrate, Reasi & Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority do hereby order the immediate closure of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Kakryal (Katra) till further orders;
