Selection to the posts of Draftsman Civil in Public Works Department for UT Cadre and Jal Shakti Department for Division Cadre Kashmir and Division Cadre Jammu advertised vide Notification No. 05 of 2020, Item No. 132 & Notification No. 01 of 2021 under Item No. 002 & 003.
Whereas, the Public Works Department, vide Indent No.
PW(R&B)NG/124/2019 dated 30.09.2020 & followed by another Indent No. PW(R&B)NG/124/2019 dated 17.12.2020 requisitioned, among other posts, 34 posts of Draftsman Civil with the following breakup; and
Whereas, the aforesaid 34 posts were advertised by the Jammu and
Kashmir Services Selection Board vide Notification No. 05 of 2020 dated
14.12.2020 under Item No. 132; and
Whereas, the Jal Shakti Department vide Indent No. JSD/NG/41/2020
dated 05.10.2020 & Indent No. JSD/NG/41/2020 dated 30.12.2020
requisitioned 72 posts for Draftsman Civil for Division Cadre Kashmir and 50
posts of Draftsman Civil for Division Cadre Jammu. The cadre-wise breakup of these posts is as follows:
vide Notification No. 01 of 2021 dated 03.02.2021 under Item No. 002 & 003;
and
Whereas, as per the Notification No. 05 of 2020, the qualification
prescribed for the posts of Draftsman Civil in Public Works Department is as
under:
Two Years Draftsman Training Course Certificate/Diploma in
Civil Engineering from Government recognized Institute”.
Whereas, the Public Works Department vide letter No.
PW(R&B)/NG/124/2019 dated 29.12.2020 has intimated that typographical
error occurred in the column mentioning qualification/indent for the post of
Draftsman Civil and Draftsman Mechanical in the aforesaid indent and they
have mentioned that the actual qualification for the post of Draftsman (Civil)
and Draftsman (Mechanical) is as under:
“Two Years Draftsman Training Course
Certificate/Diploma from any Government recognized
Institute”; and
Whereas, the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board vide No.
SSB/Secy/Advt.No./2021/228-243 dated 11.01.2021 issued corrigendum to
the aforesaid advertisement notification No. 05 of 2020 to the effect that the
prescribed qualification for the post of Draftsman Civil UT cadre under Item
No. 132 shall be as under:
“Two Years Draftsman Training Course
Certificate/Diploma from any Government recognized
Institute”; and
Whereas, with the aforesaid amendment in the advertisement
notification No. 05 of 2020 the qualification prescribed for the posts of
Draftsman Civil for both the Departments as mentioned in the respective
Indents/ subsequent Advertisement Notifications becomes as under:
“Two Years Draftsman Training Course
Certificate/Diploma from any Government recognized
Institute”; and
Whereas, the criteria adopted by the Board for making selection to
the post of Draftsman Civil was also notified in the Advertisement Notifications
as under:

The selection for the posts shall be made on the basis of
merit obtained in written examination only; and
