Now FAAs, JE Civil recruitment cancelled; CBI probe ordered

Srinagar, Aug 28 (GNS): The government on Sunday cancelled two more recruitments by JKSSB including Finance Accounts Assistant (FAAs) and JE Civil recruitment.

Also government has ordered a CBI probe like the one it had in the selection of Sub Inspector posts earlier this year.

“JKSSB FAAs & JE Civil recruitment has been cancelled & a CBI probe recommended into selection process,” government said in a tweet, adding, “Government assures all aspirants that culprits will not be spared & there won’t be any compromise on merit. Fresh recruitment process for FAAs and JE Civil will start soon.”

A senior top officer of the administration said: “We will not gloss over any irregularities.”

The FAAs candidates had been holding protest against the scrapping of selection list. For almost two months, the FAA selected candidates from different parts of J&K had been sitting on protest, demanding release of their final selection list. The protesting youngsters had expressed apprehensions about cancelling of the recruitment of FAAs which has now come good. The protesters had alleged that malpractices are marring the career of deserving candidates as they are being forced to pay the price of those who cheated.

On June 28, the government had cancelled the police sub-inspector recruitment following allegations of irregularities and recommended a CBI probe into the selection process.

“JKP Sub-Inspector recruitment has been cancelled and a CBI probe has been recommended into selection process. Culprits will be brought to justice soon,” it said, adding, “It’s a first big step towards securing future of our youth & govt will soon decide future course of action for fresh recruitment.”

In May, Lieutenant governor had ordered an inquiry into the selection of police sub-inspectors after allegations of fraud in the recruitment process surfaced. The list of successful 1,200 successful SI candidates had been declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board on June 4.(GNS)
