Shawwal moon not sighted in any part of J&K so far, Eid-ul-Fitr unlikely tomorrow: Grand Mufti J&K Nasir-ul-Islam
Srinagar, May 01 (KB):Eid-ul-Fitr likely to be celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday as the Shawwal moon has not been sighted today so far.
Shawwal moon was also not sighted in any part of India, including Pakistan, so far
Talking to Kashmir Bulletin Grand Mufti of J&K Nasir-ul-slam said that, “Not a single testimony of moon sighting was received so far from any part of J&K, therefore, the 1st of Shawwal 1439 is likely to be on tuesday, 03 May.
Based on local moon sighting, Eid-ul-Fitr will likely to be celebrated on tuesday 03 May 2022”, he said.
Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal, marking the culmination of month-long Ramadhan.
Shawwal is the 10th month of the lunar Islamic calendar. (Kashmir Bulletin — KB)
