Syllabus Overview

The syllabus is divided into six sections, as described below:

A. General Intelligence & Reasoning (20 Questions, 40 Marks)

This section will assess logical reasoning abilities, including:

  1. Analogy, classification, and series (semantic, symbolic, and number-based).
  2. Problem-solving, judgment, decision-making, and visual memory.
  3. Non-verbal reasoning such as coding-decoding, Venn diagrams, and figure-based puzzles.
  4. Concepts like emotional intelligence and critical thinking.

B. General Awareness (20 Questions, 40 Marks)

Candidates will be tested on their knowledge of:

  1. Current events, especially those impacting J&K.
  2. Topics in history, culture, geography, economics, and science.

C. Quantitative Aptitude (15 Questions, 30 Marks)

Focus areas include:

  1. Basic arithmetic operations and concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  2. Time and distance, profit and loss, partnership business, and mixture problems.
  3. Basic geometry and mensuration.

D. English Language & Comprehension (15 Questions, 30 Marks)

This section evaluates language proficiency through:

  1. Grammar, vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, and sentence correction.
  2. Comprehension passages (from books, reports, or current affairs).
  3. Active/passive voice, narration, and sentence rearrangement.

E. Mathematical Abilities (15 Questions, 30 Marks)

Key topics include:

  1. Algebra: Basic identities, surds, and linear equations.
  2. Geometry: Triangles, circles, tangents, and congruence.
  3. Mensuration: Shapes like spheres, cones, and cylinders.
  4. Trigonometry and Statistics: Basic trigonometric ratios, probability, and measures of central tendency.

F. Computer Proficiency (15 Questions, 30 Marks)

Candidates are expected to demonstrate knowledge of:

  1. Basics of computers, operating systems, and office tools like MS Word and Excel.
  2. Internet usage, e-mails, and cyber security.
  3. Networking concepts and IT security threats like viruses and hacking.

Important Notes

  • The questions in sections A, B, and D will align with graduation-level standards.
  • The sections C, E, and F will be based on 10th-standard proficiency.
