Eligibility Criteria

1. Librarian (Level 14)

  • Age Limit: Below 57 years
  • Essential Qualifications:
    • Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science with at least 55% marks.
    • At least 10 years of experience as a Librarian in a University or College library, or equivalent teaching/research experience.
    • Evidence of innovative library services, including integration of ICT.
    • Ph.D. in Library Science / Documentation / Archives Management.

2. Deputy Librarian (Level 13A)

  • Age Limit: Up to 50 years
  • Qualifications:
    • Master’s in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation with at least 55% marks.
    • 8 years of experience as Assistant University Librarian or equivalent.
    • Evidence of ICT-enabled library services.
    • Ph.D. in Library Science or related disciplines.

3. Assistant Librarian (Level 10)

  • Age Limit: Up to 45 years
  • Qualifications:
    • Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation with 55% marks.
    • Good academic record with computerization knowledge.
    • Must have cleared UGC NET / CSIR NET / SLET / SET, or hold a Ph.D. meeting UGC 2009/2016 Regulations.
    • Ph.D. holders registered prior to July 11, 2009, may be exempted from NET, provided specific academic conditions are met.

4. Internal Audit Officer (Deputation Basis – Level 12)

  • Age Limit: Up to 56 years
  • Qualifications:
    • Officers from Audit and Accounts Services holding analogous posts on regular basis, or
    • Three years of service in Level 11 or equivalent, or
    • Five years in Level 10 or equivalent in any Govt. / Autonomous body.

5. Library Attendant (Level 1)

  • Age Limit: Up to 35 years
  • Qualifications:
    • 10+2 or equivalent qualification from a recognized board.
    • Certificate course in Library Science.
    • One-year experience in a University/College Library.
    • Basic computer knowledge.

Steps to Apply Online

Selection Process

The selection procedure varies based on the group and post level.

For Group A Posts (Librarian, Deputy Librarian, Assistant Librarian, Internal Audit Officer):

  • Written Test (if number of candidates > 20)
  • Interview for shortlisted candidates
  • Final Selection based on performance in interview.

Written Test Details:

  • Objective-type MCQs.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50%.
  • Negative Marking: 0.33 for each incorrect answer.

For Group C Post (Library Attendant):

Two-Tier Examination System

  1. Written Test (70 Marks):
    • General Awareness / Current Affairs / Aptitude: 10 Marks
    • General English: 10 Marks
    • Reasoning / Numerical Aptitude: 10 Marks
    • Domain Knowledge: 40 Marks
    • Minimum Qualifying Marks:
      • UR: 28 marks
      • Reserved: 24 marks
  2. Skill/Applied Test (20 Marks):
    • Practical or written evaluation based on the job role.
    • Minimum Qualifying Marks:
      • UR: 8 marks
      • Reserved: 7 marks
  3. Experience Marks (10 Marks):
    • Government / PSU Experience: 1 mark per year
    • Private Institution (with ₹5 crore turnover): 1 mark for every 2 years

Final Merit List: Out of 100 marks (Written + Applied + Experience).
