JKBOSE various Important Notifications

Important Updates from JKBOSE — November 2025

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has released several important notifications related to examinations, affiliation procedures, fee changes, and a proposed two-level mathematics exam scheme. The updates aim to streamline processes and solicit public feedback where appropriate.

What’s New

  • On 19 November 2025, JKBOSE issued Notification No. 36/HSP-II/Annual (Private)/Bi-Annual, 2024, updating rules for the Class 12th Annual (Private) and Bi-Annual 2024 session.
  • On 17 November 2025 and 19 November 2025, the board released Notification No. 10 and Notification No. 13 — pertaining to the 2025 HSP-II (Class 12) Annual (Private) / Bi-Annual session.
  • A new notification has been issued regarding the introduction of fees for institutional-level changes — including change of nomenclature, change of location, switching affiliation, and re-inspection of institutions.
  • JKBOSE has also published a Notice seeking public opinion on a proposed Two-Level Mathematics Examination Scheme.
  • Additionally, a “Practical Centre Notice No. 01” was released, concerning the Class 12th Annual Regular Examination 2025 (October–November session) for the Sub-Office Anantnag.
  • A circular has been issued detailing the conduct and submission protocol for external practical examinations of vocational subjects for Classes 10 and 12.

Why These Updates Matter

These notifications reflect JKBOSE’s ongoing efforts to regulate and standardize procedures for examinations, affiliations, and institutional changes. Some key implications:

  • The fee structure for institutional changes will impact schools/colleges wishing to change their name, location or affiliation status — an important regulatory step that may affect many private institutions.
  • The public consultation on the two-level mathematics exam scheme suggests that the board is considering structural changes to how mathematics is assessed — potentially affecting future students.
  • The practical-exam circular ensures that vocational subject assessments follow clear, standardized protocols, which is significant for the credibility and reliability of exam results.

What Students and Institutions Should Do

  • Students — especially those enrolled under Annual (Private) or Bi-Annual sessions — should check the updated notifications (Nos. 10, 13, 36 and others) on the official JKBOSE website for any changes to exam schedules or regulations.
  • Institutions planning any change of name, affiliation, or location should review the fee-introduction notification and follow the prescribed application process.
  • Stakeholders interested in the proposed two-level mathematics scheme — including students, parents, teachers — may participate in the public consultation process once details are announced.
  • Schools offering vocational courses need to follow the new practical-exam protocol strictly to avoid discrepancies during evaluations.
