GMC Srinagar Mop-Up Round Physical Counselling 2025-26 for Paramedical Courses: Check Date, Seats & Merit Details
The Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, through its Academic Section, has officially issued a notification regarding the Mop-Up Round Physical Counselling for admission to various B.Sc. Paramedical Degree Courses for the academic session 2025-26. The counselling is being conducted to fill leftover vacant seats after the completion of the first and second rounds of physical counselling.
As per the notification, candidates whose names appear in the revised merit list issued by GMC Srinagar are eligible to participate in this mop-up round, subject to availability of seats and category-wise vacancy.
Background of the GMC Srinagar Mop-Up Counselling
According to the official notice, GMC Srinagar had earlier conducted:
- 1st Round Physical Counselling
- 2nd Round Physical Counselling
Despite these rounds, some seats in paramedical branches remained vacant. Subsequently:
- A committee was constituted to review the situation.
- The State Allied and Healthcare Council, J&K, extended the last date for admission against leftover seats in degree courses.
- Based on these developments, GMC Srinagar decided to conduct a Mop-Up Round Physical Counselling to ensure that no seats remain vacant for the 2025-26 session.
Courses Available Under Mop-Up Round Counselling
The mop-up counselling will be conducted for the following paramedical degree courses, strictly as per vacancy position and category availability:
1. B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT)
- Number of Seats: 01
- Category: Open Merit
- Eligibility Range:
- Candidates falling under Serial Numbers 01 to 50 of the revised merit list
- Excluding candidates already allotted seats during the 1st and 2nd round counselling
2. B.Sc. Renal Dialysis
- Number of Seats: 01
- Category: ST-II
- Eligibility:
- All candidates listed under the ST-II category in the revised merit list issued by GMC Srinagar
3. Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy (BPT)
- Number of Seats: 01
- Category: ST-I
- Eligibility:
- All candidates included under the ST-I category in the revised merit list issued by GMC Srinagar
GMC Srinagar Mop-Up Counselling Date & Venue
Eligible candidates are mandated to report in person as per the following schedule:

Late reporting may result in cancellation of candidature, and seats may be allotted to other eligible candidates present at the venue.
Important Instructions for Candidates
Candidates appearing for the mop-up round counselling must strictly adhere to the following instructions:
- Physical presence is mandatory; no online or proxy counselling will be entertained.
- Seat allotment will be done on the spot, based on:
- Revised merit position
- Category
- Availability of seats
- Once a seat is allotted, no further claims or changes will be entertained.
- Candidates who were already allotted seats in earlier rounds are not eligible, unless specified.

Candidates are advised to carry original documents along with one set of self-attested photocopies, including:
- Revised Merit List / Counselling Call Proof
- Class 10th Marks Certificate (Date of Birth proof)
- Class 12th Marks Certificate
- Category Certificate (ST-I / ST-II, if applicable)
- Domicile Certificate of J&K
- Character Certificate
- Medical Fitness Certificate
- Passport-size photographs
- Any other document as notified earlier by GMC Srinagar
Failure to produce original documents may lead to disqualification from the counselling process.
Admission Process After Seat Allotment
After successful seat allotment during the mop-up round:
- Candidates must complete admission formalities within the stipulated time.
- Fee payment and verification will be carried out as per GMC Srinagar norms.
- Non-reporting after allotment may result in forfeiture of the seat.
