Srinagar, June 9, 2024 – The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced changes to the official holiday schedule concerning Martyr’s Day of Guru Arjun Dev Ji and the Birthday of Guru Hargobind Ji. The adjustments were outlined in Government Order No. 1202-JK(GAD) of 2024, dated June 9, 2024.

This announcement modifies the previous orders No. 1582-JK(GAD) of 2023 and No. 1583-JK(GAD) of 2023 dated December 11, 2023. The revised dates are intended to better accommodate the public and ensure smooth observance of these important days.

Revised Holiday Dates

1. Martyr’s Day of Guru Arjun Dev Ji:
– New Date: June 10, 2024 (Monday)
– Previous Date: June 16, 2024 (Sunday)

2. Birthday of Guru Hargobind Ji:
– New Date: June 22, 2024 (Saturday)
– Previous Date: July 5, 2024 (Friday)

These changes apply to the entire Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The order, signed by Sanjeev Verma, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, emphasizes that these adjustments are made to ensure appropriate observance of these significant dates in the region.
