High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Issues New Order for Appointment of Junior Assistants – Cancelled & Adjusted Posts
The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh at Jammu has issued a fresh order concerning the appointment of Junior Assistants in the Subordinate Courts of the Kashmir Division. The order, released on 05 December 2025, includes crucial directions regarding appointment cancellations, adjustments, transfers, and joining guidelines for newly listed candidates.
The notification has been issued by the Chief Justice’s Secretariat under Order No. 1813 of 2025/Psy, citing the operation of the waiting list pursuant to Advertisement Notification No. 06 of 2024/Psy, dated 28.08.2024.

📌 Key Highlights of the Order

❌ Cancelled Appointments: List of Rejected Candidates
The High Court has cancelled the appointment of three candidates initially selected vide Order No. 1410 of 2025 on 26 September 2025. These candidates failed to report for their duties within the prescribed time period.
The cancelled candidates are listed below as per Annexure–B:

Against the cancelled posts, three new candidates have now been appointed as Junior Assistants in Pay Level 4 (₹25,500–81,100). Below is the list from Annexure–B1:

📌 Mandatory Instructions for Newly Selected Candidates
All selected candidates must follow the guidelines below, failing which, their appointment will be cancelled ab initio (from the beginning):
🔎 Verification & Joining Conditions
- Candidates must join within 21 days of the order date.
- Must submit character certificate & category verification from Police IG and CID Jammu & Kashmir.
- Salary release will depend on satisfactory report and completion of documentation.
- A court affidavit must be submitted confirming there is no case against the candidate.
📄 Document Submission Rules
Before joining:
- All testimonials must be verified.
- Adverse report will lead to cancellation of appointment.
⛔ If any candidate does not comply with the above rules, their appointment will be terminated without notice.

The High Court aims to ensure:

- Accountability among selected candidates,
- Immediate filling of vacant posts to maintain smooth judicial functioning.
