JEE Main 2026 Exam City Slip Out for Session-1 — How to Download and What to Know

JEE Main 2026 Exam City Slip Out for Session-1 — How to Download and What to Know

New Delhi — The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2026 Session-1 City Intimation Slip on its official portal, giving candidates early information about the city in which their examination centre will be located.

⚠️ Note: This is not the exam admit card (hall ticket). The admit card — containing the exact exam centre address, roll number and other instructions — will be released separately, a few days before the exam.

📅 Quick Overview: JEE Main 2026 Session-1

  • Exam Conducting Authority: National Testing Agency (NTA)
  • Session-1 Exam Dates: January 21 to 30, 2026 (for Papers 1 & 2)
  • City Slip Release: January 8, 2026
  • Admit Card Expected: A few days before the exams (likely mid-January)

What is the City Intimation Slip?

The City Intimation Slip tells candidates:

✅ The city where their JEE Main 2026 exam will be held
✅ Their exam date and shift (as applicable)
✅ Basic personal and registration details

This slip helps students plan their travel and accommodation well in advance — especially important for those appearing away from home.

⚠️ However, this slip does not include the exact exam centre or address. That will be available only in the admit card.

Steps to Download the JEE Main City Slip

Candidates can follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit the official JEE Main portal: jeemain.nta.nic.in (or nta.ac.in)
  2. Click on the link for “JEE Main 2026 Session-1 City Intimation Slip”
  3. Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth (or login credentials)
  4. Click Submit
  5. View and download/print your city slip for future use

✔️ Make sure your internet connection is stable as many candidates may be accessing the portal simultaneously.

Important Points Candidates Must Know

📌 City Slip vs Admit Card

  • City Slip: Shows allotted exam city
  • Admit Card: Shows centre name + complete address, roll no., reporting time, photograph and signature
City slips are released earlier; admit cards come later, close to exam dates.
