Srinagar, Jan 10: As the Government is yet to appoint the chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE), the results of the 10th and 12th standard examinations held last year are getting delayed.
Secretary BOSE, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, told Excelsior that the result of the 10th standard is ready for last one week and 12th standard is getting finishing touches and will be ready in the next few days.
Sheikh said that they are waiting for the appointment of chairman of the BOSE so that the result can be declared. He said that the result can’t be declared without appointment of chairman.
The Secretary said that the result committee of the JKBOSE has six members and it is headed by the chairman and his presence is mandatory for the declaration of results.
“As soon as the chairman is appointed, the result of the 10th class will be declared,” he informed.
As per officials, around 95,000 students appeared last year in the Class 10 annual exams across 994 examination centres in Kashmir and winter zone of Jammu region.
Of the total candidates, 68,804 are from the 10 districts of Kashmir Division, while 25,224 belong to the winter zone areas of Jammu Division. In addition, 660 students from Kargil and 95 from Leh wrote the exams.
Students are eagerly waiting for their results and many parents said it is mentally distressing for both the students and parents.
“It’s very stressful to wait without any clarity. For last week we are being told that the result is ready but has not been declared so far,” said a Class 10 student from Srinagar.
