Selection Process for JKSSB Constable Recruitment 2025
The selection process consists of the following stages:
1. Written Examination
- Objective-type multiple choice questions
- Questions will be in English language only
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
- Bonus marks for NCC certificate holders:
- NCC “C” Certificate: 5%
- NCC “B” Certificate: 3%
- NCC “A” Certificate: 2%
2. Physical Standard Test (PST) – Qualifying
For Male Candidates
- Height: 5’6” minimum
- Chest: 32” (unexpanded), 33½” (expanded)
For Female Candidates
- Height: 5’2” minimum
Relaxation of height is applicable for Gorkha community and Bot Tribe candidates.
3. Physical Endurance Test (PET) – Qualifying
Male Candidates
- 1600 meters run in 6½ minutes
- 20 push-ups
Female Candidates
- 1000 meters run in 6½ minutes
- Shot put (4 kg): 14½ feet (3 attempts)
Relaxed standards are available for Ex-Servicemen as per age slabs.
4. Medical Examination
Candidates shortlisted after PET will undergo a medical examination to assess physical and medical fitness.
Reservation and Horizontal Quota
- Reservation will be applied as per J&K Reservation Act and Rules
- 15% horizontal reservation for women in non-gazetted ranks
- Reservation for Ex-Servicemen, SPOs, and Volunteer Home Guards as per government orders
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are not eligible for these posts
