NH-44 (Jammu-Srinagar Highway) Traffic Plan for 29-01-2026

Jammu/Srinagar: Traffic Police Headquarters Jammu & Kashmir has issued the Traffic Plan & Advisory for 29-01-2026, urging passengers to travel during daytime and avoid unnecessary movement at night due to landslide and shooting stone risks on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44).

The advisory also mentions that due to a 40–50 metre single-lane stretch at Kishtwari Pather caused by sinking of the road, Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) will be allowed to ply on an alternate-day basis.

Night Travel Discouraged on NH-44

Traffic Police have strongly advised LMV operators and passengers to travel only during daylight hours. As per the advisory, commuters should avoid night journeys due to:

  • Overtaking
  • Wrong-lane driving
  • Rash driving

may cause heavy congestion on narrow stretches, especially between Ramban–Banihal.
