Railway Recruitment Board Group D: Selection Process, Salary, and Benefits

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has extended the last day for online registration for the RRB Group D recruitment in 2025. The registration window will remain open until March 1, 2025. Initially, it was scheduled to close on February 22, 2025.

The RRB has announced 32,438 vacancies in Level 1 posts. Interested candidates can submit their registration form to the official website of RRB.

RRB GROUP D SELECTION PROCESS:

The selection process for RRB group d recruitment involves multiple stages.

  • The Computer-Based Test (CBT): This is the first stage of the selection process for RR B group d, which includes an online-based test consisting of subjects like Science, Mathematics, General Awareness& current affairs, and General Intelligence & Reasoning. The exam consists of 150 marks.
  • The Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who qualify for the CBT test can appear in this exam.
  • The Medical Examination: The candidates who successfully pass the PET undergo the physical test. The candidates who meet the requirements can be selected by the Indian Railways.

THE SALARY OF RRB GROUP D EMPLOYEES:

The RRB Group D salary structure is determined by the 7th pay commission, and it offers a basic salary starting at ₹18,000 per month for Level 1 posts. The salary can vary between ₹22,500 and ₹25,380 depending on the posting location.

PERKS AND ALLOWANCE FOR RRB GROUP D EMPLOYEES:

The employees also receive additional perks and benefits, which include, House Rent Allowance (HRA), Night Duty Allowance, Overtime Allowance (OTA), and Travel Allowance for distances exceeding 8 km. Employees also receive medical benefits, childcare allowance and a pension scheme.

Railway doctors and teachers are entitled to special allowances, and compensatory allowances for employees posted in tribal and scheduled areas.
