Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility requirements vary depending on the post. Below is a summarized overview:
Associate Professor
- Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
- Minimum 8–10 years of teaching/research experience (as applicable).
- Research publications indexed in Scopus/Web of Science (SCIE/SSCI/AHCI).
- Minimum research score as per UGC Regulations 2018.
For Indian Languages (excluding English), Music, Fine Arts, and Performing Arts, UGC-CARE listed journals (till February 2025) will also be considered.
Assistant Professor
- Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
- NET/SLET/SET qualification is mandatory.
- Ph.D. holders (as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016) may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
Certain disciplines like Remote Sensing & GIS and High Energy Physics have specific eligibility requirements mentioned in the official notice .
Librarian / Deputy Librarian
- Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science with 55% marks.
- Ph.D. degree required for higher-level posts.
- Required years of experience in university/college libraries.
- Knowledge of ICT integration and innovative library services.
Assistant Director (Sports & Physical Education)
- Master’s Degree in Physical Education/Sports Science with 55% marks.
- NET/SLET/SET qualification OR Ph.D. as per UGC norms.
- Physical fitness test required.
- Asian/Commonwealth medal winners with postgraduate degrees are eligible under alternative criteria.
Pay Scale (7th CPC)
Selected candidates will be placed in appropriate Academic Levels under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, including:
- Academic Level 10 (₹57,700–₹1,82,400)
- Academic Level 13A
- Academic Level 14

Total Score: 100 Marks
- Academic Record – 80 Marks
- Research Publications – 10 Marks
- Teaching Experience – 10 Marks

Reservation Policy
Reservation is implemented as per J&K Reservation Rules 2005, including amendments notified under:
