University of Kashmir Directs Private Affiliated Colleges to Resume Classes from February 16

Srinagar, Feb 13: The University of Kashmir has directed all private affiliated colleges in Kashmir Division to resume regular class work for the ongoing semesters with effect from February 16, 2026.

According to an official notice issued by the Office of the Dean, College Development Council (CDC), the decision applies to all private sector colleges affiliated with the university across the Kashmir Division.

The notification, dated February 13, 2026, states that the colleges are hereby instructed to restart academic activities for the current semesters without any delay. The move is aimed at ensuring continuity in the academic calendar and minimizing disruption to students’ coursework.

Submission of Time Tables Mandatory

In addition to resuming classes, the University has also asked all concerned colleges to submit copies of their semester-wise time tables. The deadline for submitting the time tables has been fixed as February 23, 2026.

The directive emphasizes timely compliance, indicating that colleges must strictly adhere to the instructions issued by the College Development Council.

The notice has been issued under reference number F (Re-opening – Pvt. Sector colleges) CDC/KU/26 and is signed by the Assistant Registrar, College Development Council, University of Kashmir.

The order makes it clear that all private affiliated institutions are expected to follow the directive and ensure smooth academic functioning from the specified date.

The decision is likely to bring relief to thousands of students enrolled in private affiliated colleges who were awaiting clarity regarding the resumption of classes. With the reopening date now officially announced, students can prepare to resume their academic schedules from Monday.
