Weather Update J&K: Dry Spell to Continue Till Feb 8, Light Rain/Snow Likely on Feb 9–10
The Meteorological Department Srinagar (MET SRN) has issued the latest weather forecast for Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) for the coming days. As per the advisory, dry weather is expected to dominate from February 4 to February 8, while light rain/snow is likely at scattered to many places on February 9 and 10.
Residents and travelers, especially those moving towards higher reaches, are advised to remain cautious and follow official instructions.
J&K Weather Forecast (4–15 February)
4–6 February
- Generally dry weather expected till 6th evening
- Possibility of light snowfall at a few higher reaches towards 6th night
7–8 February
- Generally dry weather expected till 8th evening
9–10 February
- Light rain/snow likely
- Expected at scattered to many places across J&K
11 February
- Generally dry
- Possibility of light snow at isolated higher reaches
12–15 February
- Generally dry weather expected

The MET SRN has also issued a cautionary advisory keeping in view snowfall risk in higher reaches:
✅ For Travelers/Transporters
- Confirm road and highway status from the concerned Traffic Police/Traffic Unit
- Follow the administration’s travel advisory
- Avoid unnecessary travel during bad weather days (Feb 9–10)
✅ For General Public in Snowbound Areas
- People living in or visiting snowbound higher reaches are advised:
- Not to venture into sloppy regions
- Avoid avalanche-prone zones
- Stay alert during snowfall chances around Feb 6 night and Feb 9–10
