Weather Update J&K: Rain/Snow, Thunder & Gusty Winds Likely From Jan 31 to Feb 3 – MET Srinagar Advisory Issued

The Meteorological Centre Srinagar (MET SRN) has issued a fresh weather update for Jammu & Kashmir, forecasting a spell of cloudy weather with light to moderate rain/snow in higher reaches, along with chances of thunder and gusty winds at many places between 31 January and 1 February.

People, travelers and farmers have been advised to follow the administration’s advisory and remain cautious, especially in snowbound and avalanche-prone areas.


J&K Weather Forecast (30 Jan to 10 Feb)

30 January

  • Light rain/snow at a few higher reaches.

31 January – 1 February

  • Generally cloudy
  • Light to moderate rain/snow (higher reaches)
  • Thunder & gusty winds likely at many places.

2 – 3 February

  • Generally cloudy
  • Light rain/snow (higher reaches) at scattered to many places.

4 – 6 February

  • Partly cloudy weather expected till 6th evening.

7 February

  • Generally cloudy
  • Light rain/snow possible at a few places.

8 – 10 February

  • Generally dry weather expected.

🚗 Travel Advisory

  • Travelers and transporters are advised to confirm road/highway status from the concerned traffic units before starting the journey.
  • Follow traffic and administration updates.

🌾 Farmers Advisory

  • Farmers are advised to suspend farm operations for the next 7 days due to the weather activity.

🏔️ Public Advisory (Higher Reaches)

  • People in snowbound higher areas are advised not to venture into sloppy and avalanche-prone zones, as conditions may become risky during the wet spell.

This weather spell may affect road connectivity in higher reaches, especially during 31 Jan to 3 Feb, when rain/snow activity is expected at many places.
