Revenue Department starts initiative to bring efficiency in online service delivery
Srinagar, Nov 27 (KNO): The Revenue Department has launched the innovative ‘Government Process Re-Engineering’ initiative to boost operational efficiency in online service delivery.
For this purpose, 20 district-level committees and GPR study groups have been established to provide feedback on the GPR of online services.
According to an order, the government has recently made significant strides in building a digital ecosystem for citizen-centric services while actively engaging in the ongoing GPR of online services. “Government Process Re-engineering (GPR) focuses on optimizing government processes and service delivery by prioritizing citizen experience, simplifying processes, reducing costs, delivery times, enhancing transparency, and lessening administrative burdens,” it said, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
The GPR involves the application of de-novo solutions to address existing systemic bottlenecks.
“It goes beyond mere improvements, necessitating a fundamental examination of existing systems. Fresh solutions may include a complete overhaul of mechanisms to optimize service delivery to citizens,” it said.
In this regard, approval is granted for the formation of District Level Committees/GPR Study Groups, to provide feedback, suggestions, and proposals for GPR of online services within 15 days. “The Study Groups/Committees have the flexibility to suggest improvements for services not assigned to their district and can address other significant issues related to GPR based on challenges faced in the field of public service delivery,” it added—(KNO)
