Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education extends deadline for submission of exam forms
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has extended the deadline for submission of exam forms for classes 10, 11, and 12. The new deadline is February 15, 2024. This is the second time the deadline has been extended. The original deadline was December 23, 2023, but it was first extended to January 27, 2024.
The JKBOSE said the decision to extend the deadline was taken in view of the “repeated requests” from students and parents. The board also said that it has taken into account the “difficulties faced by the students due to the prevailing situation in the UTs of J&K and Ladakh.”
The prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh refers to the ongoing civil unrest in the region. The Kashmir Valley has been under a state of siege since August 5, 2019, when the Indian government revoked the region’s special status. The abrogation of Article 370 and 35A has led to widespread protests and violence in the Valley.

The extension of the deadline for submission of exam forms is a welcome relief for students in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The prevailing situation in the region has made it difficult for students to focus on their studies and prepare for exams. The extension of the deadline will give them more time to prepare.
