Project Associate-I/JRF Jobs at SKUAST-Kashmir
The Division of Genetics and Plant Breeding at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-Kashmir) is inviting applications for one Project Associate-I/JRF position. This opening is part of a DBT-funded wheat network project titled “Germplasm Characterization and Trait Discovery in Wheat using Genomics Approaches and its Integration for Improving Climate Resilience, Productivity, and Nutritional Quality.” The position is temporary and will conclude with the project’s completion in February 2025. Candidates selected for this position will not be eligible for absorption into SKUAST-Kashmir.
Position Details:
Position: Project Associate-I/JRF
Essential Qualification: M.Sc. Agriculture
Desirable Qualification: M.Sc. Genetics and Plant Breeding/Seed Science & Technology
Experience: Experience in trait phenotyping in the field and under controlled conditions on various traits, including stripe rust resistance in wheat.
Emolument: Rs. 31,000 + HRA per month
Note: Non-NET candidates will receive a salary of Rs. 25,000 + HRA.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent is expected to work in the field, recording data on different traits.
The incumbent will also work in the Molecular Breeding Laboratory/Green House, conducting various experiments under controlled conditions.
The incumbent will assist the PI/Co-PI in day-to-day project-related activities, including documentation of work, preparation of progress reports, and maintenance of financial records related to the project.
The incumbent may need to travel to attend meetings and other trainings/demonstrations related to the project.
