The Territorial Army (TA) is organizing a recruitment rally for the 182 Infantry Battalion, Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI). This recruitment drive is set to take place at the JAK LI Regimental Centre, Rangreth, Srinagar, J&K, from 9th November 2024 to 27th November 2024. Eligible candidates from various districts and regions are invited to participate, in the rally and undergo document checking, physical tests, and medical tests at the specified venues.

Vacancies

The recruitment rally offers multiple positions for eligible candidates across various categories:

• Soldier (General Duty):, 274 positions

• Soldier (Special Trades): 07 positions (Housekeepers, Dressers, Washermen, etc.)

Eligibility Criteria

1. Age: Candidates must be between 18 to 42 years as of the recruitment date.
2. Educational Qualification:
   • Soldier (General Duty): Class 10th/Matric pass with at least 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject.
   • Soldier (Clerk): 10+2/Intermediate in any stream with a minimum of 60% marks and 50% in each subject.
   • Soldier (Tradesmen): Class 10 pass for specific trades like Cook, Mess, Equipment Repairer, and others.
   • Soldier (Housekeeper): Class 8 pass with no aggregate percentage requirement, but candidates must score at least 33% in each subject.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must meet the following physical standards:

• Height: 160 cm (165 cm for candidates from Ladakh)
• Weight: Proportional to height and age as per Army Medical Standards
• Chest: 77 cm (minimum) with an expansion of 5 cm

Relaxations in Physical Standards

Sons of servicemen, ex-servicemen, war widows, and widows of ex-servicemen are eligible for relaxations in height, chest, and weight measurements.

Selection Process

The selection process includes physical, medical, and trade tests. A written examination (bilingual – English & Hindi) will be conducted for candidates qualifying in the preliminary tests. The results of the tests will be announced on the spot.
