The Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar, an autonomous institution affiliated with the University of Kashmir and NAAC-accredited Grade ‘A,’ has announced admissions for its innovative Design Your Degree (DYD) undergraduate programme for the academic session 2024-25. The programme, branded as “My Career, My Degree, My Design,” promises a transformative academic experience.

Programme Highlights

The DYD programme aims to:

  1. Provide a joyful academic progression through experiential learning.
  2. Encourage transdisciplinary approaches for holistic development, critical thinking, and collaborative learning.
  3. Introduce modern pedagogies to empower students for self-discovery.
  4. Offer learning opportunities beyond traditional classroom walls.
  5. Help students explore and integrate their talents, enabling them to design their degree based on their interests and aspirations.

  • Last Date for Online Submission: December 7, 2024
  • Hard Copy Submission Deadline: December 9, 2024
    (To be submitted with the fee receipt to the Admission Section of the college.)
  • Mode of Selection Notification: December 12, 2024

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Part-II Examination in any stream with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
  • Reservation policies will follow UT of J&K norms.

Intake

  • A total of 20 seats are available, with 10% reserved for self-financed candidates.

Admission Process

  1. Applicants must complete the online application form on the college website.
  2. A non-refundable application fee of ₹100 is payable online.
  3. Based on the number of applicants, selection may involve:
    • Class 12th Marks (10%)
    • OMR-Based Test (70%)
    • Group Discussion (10%)
    • Personal Interview (10%)
      Alternatively, merit-based selection will include a group discussion and personal interview.
  4. Selected candidates must complete admission formalities within the stipulated time, failing which the seat will be offered to the next candidate on the merit list.

  • Reservation claims based on under-process certificates will not be entertained.
