Owing to an approaching Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of rain/snow showers in some parts of J&K. Rain/snow showers are possible in parts of Doda and Kishtwar districts particularly. Light to moderate snowfall is also possible over Sonamarg, Gulmarg, and other higher reaches of Anantnag, Kulgam, and Shopian districts. The WD may also bring rain/snow showers to a few plains of J&K.
Snow showers are also possible over Kargil – Drass axis.

18 Jan:
Mostly dry weather is expected. Snow showers can’t be ruled out over higher reaches of Kupwara, Bandipora, Anantnag (northern side), and Ganderbal districts.
19 Jan:
Mostly dry weather. Snow showers are possible over a few higher reaches of Kashmir.
20 Jan:
Mostly dry weather. Snow showers are possible over a few higher reaches of Kashmir.
21 Jan:
A weak WD is expected.
A strong-intensity Western Disturbance can impact the region around January 23 (45% chance). However, a more accurate assessment will be possible in the coming days only. This is as per the current forecasts, which may change in the coming days.
