Traffic Advisory for Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and Other Key Routes (11-02-2025)
Traffic Update (09-02-2025 to 10-02-2025)
The Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K, has issued an advisory regarding the traffic movement on key highways in Jammu and Kashmir. From 09-02-2025 (1700 hrs) to 10-02-2025 (1700 hrs), slow movement was observed on National Highway-44 (NH-44) due to single-lane traffic at Dalwas, Mehad, and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather, as well as ongoing four-lane construction work.
Advisory for Passengers and Goods Carrier Operators
- Daytime Travel Recommended: Passengers and LMV operators are advised to travel on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW only during the daytime due to the risk of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.
- Loading Restrictions for Goods Carriers: Goods carrier operators transporting fresh perishables and livestock should adhere to advisories issued by the Traffic Police Headquarters, considering the single-lane traffic and poor road conditions at Dalwas, Mehad, and other critical areas.
- Safety Measures for HMVs:
- HMVs should avoid overloading and ensure sufficient fuel availability for the journey.
- Vehicle owners must double-check vehicle fitness before travel.
- Restricted Movement for HMVs: Only 06 and 10-tyre HMVs are permitted to use the Dhar road.
- No Unnecessary Haltage: Commuters must avoid stopping between Ramban and Banihal, especially in landslide-prone areas.
