ICAR-CITH, Srinagar Announces Walk-in-Interview for Junior Research Fellow Position
The ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (ICAR-CITH), Srinagar, has announced a Walk-in-Interview for the recruitment of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF). The interview is scheduled to be held on 20th February 2025 at 11:00 AM at the institute’s premises.
Position Details:
- Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

- Project Name: Development of Decision Support System for Monitoring and Management of Emerging Apple Pests in Apple Orchard (Funded by DST, GoI)
- Emoluments:
- ₹31,000 + 18% HRA (for the first two years)
- ₹35,000 + 18% HRA (for the third year)

Eligibility Criteria:
Essential Qualification:
- Postgraduate degree in Agriculture/Horticulture with a specialization in Entomology.
- Must have qualified through a National Eligibility Test (CSIR-UGC NET/GATE) or a selection process conducted by Central Government departments/agencies like DST/DBT/ICAR.
Desirable Qualification:
- Expertise in insect curation and field experimentation.
Experience:
- Entomological Field Experimentation in Fruit Crops.
Selection Process:
- 50 marks for essential qualification
- 5 marks for Ph.D.
- 10 marks for experience (2 marks per year)
- 10 marks for publications (1 mark per publication)
- 5 marks for awards (1 mark per award)
- 20 marks for personal interview
Important Notes:
- Age Limit: Maximum 35 years (relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and female candidates).
- The appointment is purely contractual and initially valid up to 27.12.2025.
- No claim for regular appointment will be entertained.
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
- Candidates should bring original and self-attested copies of qualification certificates, passport-size photographs, and experience certificates.
- Casual Leave (CL) and Restricted Holidays (RH) will be allowed as per GoI/ICAR rules.
- Selected candidates must give two months’ notice before resignation.
