Power Shutdown Announced by KPDCL: Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama Areas to Remain Affected on Jan 31 & Feb 1–10
Srinagar, January 30: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has informed that several 33 KV power lines will remain under shutdown on different dates due to which electricity supply to multiple areas in Srinagar, Budgam and other adjoining regions will remain affected.
As per the official update, the shutdowns will impact power supply in the following areas as per the scheduled timings:
1) Shutdown of 33 KV Alusteng–Zakura Line
KPDCL said that shutdown of the 33 KV Alusteng-Zakura line will be observed.

- Adjoining areas
🕒 Shutdown Timing:
- 31 January 2026 (Friday)
- 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM
2) Shutdown of Cheshmashahi–TRC–Nedous Line
Similarly, shutdown of the Cheshmashahi-TRC-Nedous line will be observed.

- Paras Hospital
- 33 KV installations of Rajbagh Tapline
🕒 Shutdown Timing:
- 01 February 2026 (Sunday)
- 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM
3) Shutdown of 33 KV Budgam SIDCO Tap Line
Likewise, shutdown of the 33 KV Budgam SIDCO Tap line will be observed.

- 12:00 Noon to 03:00 PM
4) Shutdown of 33 KV Lassipora–Keegam Line (Multiple Dates)
Further, shutdown of the 33 KV Lassipora-Keegam line will be observed.

- 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM

Advisory for Residents
Residents in the affected localities are advised to:
- Charge essential devices in advance
- Avoid scheduling important electrical work during shutdown hours
- Keep backup lighting ready (inverters/lamps)
- Use power carefully once supply resumes to avoid load issues
KPDCL has scheduled multiple shutdowns of key 33 KV lines across Srinagar, Budgam and Pulwama-related areas, which will temporarily affect power supply on January 31 and February 1, 4, 7 & 10, 2026. Consumers are requested to cooperate and make necessary arrangements.
