Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council Invites Applications for Engagement of Past Champion Athletes as Coaches/Mentors
The Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council has issued an Advertisement Notification inviting fresh offline applications from domiciles of Jammu & Kashmir for engagement of Past Champion Athletes as Coaches/Mentors under the approved SAI-supported Khelo India Scheme.
The initiative aims to strengthen the sports ecosystem at grassroots level while also providing sustainable income opportunities to former champion athletes.

Engagement will be made across various districts in the following sports disciplines:
Jammu Division
- Badminton – Old Indoor Sports Complex, M.A Stadium Jammu
- Athletics – Sports Stadium Rajouri
- Archery – Sports Stadium Reasi
- Basketball – Indoor Sports Stadium Udhampur
- Table Tennis – Samba & Udhampur
- Kho-Kho – Doda
Kashmir Division
- Wrestling – Anantnag & Kulgam
- Kho-Kho – Anantnag & Kulgam
- Boxing – Bandipora
- Table Tennis – Baramulla, Pulwama & Doda
- Pencak Silat – Doda
- Skating – Pampore
- Gymnastics – Srinagar
- Badminton – Baramulla
📌 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be domiciles of J&K and fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria supported by:
- Coaching experience
- Sports achievements
- Academic/technical qualification certificates
- Valid ID & address proof

Individual Sports
- Represented India at recognized International competitions under recognized NSF
- Medal winner at Senior National Championships / Khelo India Games
- Medal winner at National AIU Championships
- Participation in Senior National Championships / Khelo India Games
Team Sports
- Represented India at recognized International competitions
- Part of medal-winning team at Senior National Championships / Khelo India
- Medal-winning team at National AIU Championships
- Participation at Senior Nationals / Khelo India

Preference will be given to candidates with higher sports achievements, followed by academic qualification and seniority of age in case of tie.
⏳ Age Limit
- Maximum age: 40 years as on the last date of application.
- Relaxation up to 01 year may be granted in deserving cases for candidates who have represented India in recognized International competitions.
💰 Remuneration
- Past Champion Athletes will be eligible for remuneration up to ₹3.00 lakh per year, subject to the condition that a minimum of 30 trainees are enrolled in the respective discipline.

⚠️ Important Instructions
- Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
- Engagement is purely temporary and does not confer any right for regularization.
- Minimum academic qualification required: Matric.
- Agreement/MOU will be signed before commencement of coaching.
- Scheme will run for a 4-year Olympic cycle under Khelo India Scheme.
