The Institute of Biotechnology, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J), Chatha, has invited applications for engagement of Guest Faculty for the 2nd semester of the academic session 2025-26.
As per the official notification issued by the Institute of Biotechnology, the university is seeking qualified candidates to deliver lectures in the subject of Bioinformatics.
About the Institute
The Institute of Biotechnology at SKUAST-J has been functioning since the academic session 2010-11 under University Order No. 73 (Est.) of 2011 dated 20-10-2011. The institute operates on a self-financing basis and offers the following programmes:
- B.Tech. (Biotechnology)
- M.Sc. (Ag.) Molecular Biology & Biotechnology
- M.Tech. (Biotechnology)
- Ph.D. (Molecular Biology & Biotechnology)
The institute also facilitates research work for undergraduate, postgraduate students, and scientists.

- Eligibility: Master’s Degree and above with at least 55% marks
Additional Qualification Preferences
- Diploma in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology from a recognized University/Institute with M.Sc. and Ph.D. will also be considered.
- Preference will be given to candidates holding M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology.
- Candidates should have programming knowledge of R and Python languages.
- Working knowledge of MS-SQL Database is required.
- Experience in Biological Sciences will be an added advantage.
