Power Shutdown Schedule Announced by Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited Across Multiple Areas
Srinagar, May 2 (KNC): The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various parts of Kashmir to facilitate maintenance and infrastructure works.
According to the official communiqué, the shutdown of the 33 KV Shamsipora Tapline will be observed on May 4 and 6, 2026, resulting in disruption of power supply to Shamsipora, Sudsanoo, Turka, Tachloo and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Similarly, the shutdown of 132/33 KV, 100 MVA GIS Khanyar will affect Nowshera, Raja Colony, Industrial Estate BAMK, Zadibal, Hawal, Botakadal, BSNL, Gilkadal, Kathi Darwaza, Rainawari Psychiatric Hospital, PHE, Central Jail, Saida Kadal and adjoining areas from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on May 4 and 6, 2026.
In another schedule, shutdown of 33 KV KP Bagh line and 33 KV Exhibition line will impact KP Bagh, Soiteng, PHE, Kursoo Rajbagh, Rajbagh Bund, Gogjibagh, Museum, Jawahar Nagar, Mehjoor Nagar, Rambagh, Old Barzullah and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on May 5, 11 and 14, 2026.
Meanwhile, the shutdown of 33 KV Nehalpora Markundal line and 33 KV Nihalpora HMT line will affect Markundal, Naidkhai, Sumbal, Gund Boon, Shadipora, Trigam, Mirgund, Singhpora, Kalsari, HMT, SKUAST and SSM College along with adjoining areas from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM on May 5, 2026.
Residents in the affected areas have been advised to plan their activities accordingly during the scheduled shutdown periods.(KNC)
