Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), School of Engineering & Technology, Department of Civil Engineering, is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Assistant (JRA) under a project sponsored by the J&K Science Technology and Innovation Council (JKSTIC), Department of Science and Technology, Government of J&K.

Project Title

Modelling of Sediment Yield and Establishing Sediment Delivery Ratio Relationships in Upper Jhelum Basin

Position Details

• Duration: 12 months (subject to satisfactory performance).
• Number of Positions: One (1).
• Emoluments: ₹15,000/- per month.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:

1. B.E./B. Tech. in Civil Engineering or a relevant degree with:
   • Minimum CGPA of 6.5 or at least 60%.
2. M.Sc. in Geology/Geoinformatics/Earth Sciences/Geography/Environmental Science and Management/Environmental Science with:
   • Minimum CGPA of 7 or at least 65%.
   • Knowledge in Geographic Information System (GIS), Remote Sensing, Satellite Image Analysis, and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who possess:

1. A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
2. Proficiency in GIS, Python, and MATLAB.
