- 29th–31st December 2024: The weather is expected to remain generally dry across Jammu & Kashmir.
- 1st–2nd January 2025:
- A feeble Western Disturbance (WD) is likely to affect the region.
- During the evening/night of January 1st and into the morning of January 2nd, expect generally cloudy skies with light snowfall at scattered places.
- 3rd–6th January 2025:
- A moderate WD is expected to bring more significant weather activity.
- Light to moderate snowfall is anticipated across many parts of the Kashmir Division and scattered areas of the Jammu Division.
- Isolated higher reaches may experience moderate to heavy snowfall during this period.

- Cold Wave Conditions:
- Isolated areas may experience cold wave conditions on December 30th and 31st.
- Travel Safety:
- Sub-freezing temperatures and icy conditions on roads, particularly in plains and higher reaches, may pose challenges.

- Snowfall Preparedness:
- The fresh spell of snowfall from January 3rd–6th may lead to travel disruptions, especially in higher elevations.
- Moderate to heavy snowfall at isolated higher reaches cannot be ruled out.
