Heat Spell Just Getting Started; Records Begin to Fall Across J&K
As predicted earlier, a few temperature records have already been broken today. But this does not mark the end of the heat spell — in fact, it has only just begun. Several more records are likely to be challenged in the coming days.
This February is now on track to turn out as one of the warmest on record for Jammu & Kashmir.

• Srinagar: 20.1°C — highest February temperature since 2016.
All-time February record: 20.6°C recorded on 24 February 2016
Departure: +9.7°C above normal
• Gulmarg: 11.4°C — highest ever — equals the all-time February record set on 11 February 1993.
