The ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (CITH), Srinagar, invites eligible candidates for a Walk-in-Interview to be held on 30th January 2025 at 11:00 AM for the temporary position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF).
Position Details
- Project Title: Development of Decision Support System for Monitoring and Management of Emerging Aphid Pests in Apple Orchards
- Funding Agency: DST (GoI)
- No. of Posts: 01
- Emoluments:
- ₹31,000/month + 18% HRA for the first two years
- ₹35,000/month + 18% HRA for the third year
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification
- Postgraduate degree in Agriculture/Horticulture with specialization in Entomology, or
- Postgraduate degree in Entomology selected through a National Eligibility Test (e.g., CSIR-UGC NET or equivalent) conducted by Central Government departments/agencies like DST/DBT/ICAR, etc.
Desirable Qualification
- Expertise in insect curation and field experimentation.
Experience
- Hands-on experience in entomological field experimentation in fruit crops.
Selection Process
- Marks distribution:
- 50 marks for essential qualifications
- 05 marks for Ph.D.
- 10 marks for experience
- 05 marks for awards (1 per award)
- 20 marks for a personal interview
General Instructions
- Maximum Age:
- 35 years for JRF (age relaxations: 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC, and Female candidates).
- Candidates must bring their bio-data, certificates, passport-size photographs, and self-attested copies of all documents at the time of the interview.
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
- The position is purely temporary, for a period up to 27th December 2025, and may be extended based on project requirements and performance.
