“Issue of JKPSC-AFCAT Date Clash Being Examined, Possibilities Being Seen”: Edu Minister

Srinagar, Feb 21 (JKNS): Amid growing demands for rescheduling or postponement of the JKPSC exam, Education Minister Sakeena Masood Itoo on Friday said the issue of the JKPSC-AFCAT date clash has come to her notice and that is being examined.

Speaking to reporters in Kulgam, Education Minister Sakeena Itoo, as per news agency JKNS, said that the issue is being looked into.

While responding to a question on the date clash between JKPSC and AFCAT exams, Itoo said, “As board exams are ongoing, I received complaints from parents that some students were not allowed to sit for exams due to faults either by the school or at any other level. As soon as it came to my notice, we resolved it.”

“Now, as far as this issue is concerned, it has come to my notice, and we will examine it. We will see what possibilities are there, and that will also be considered,” Itoo said.

As already reported by JKNS, hundreds of students from Jammu and Kashmir are urging the authorities to reschedule the JKAS exam, currently slated for February 23, 2025, as it clashes with the AFCAT exam on the same date.

On Thursday, Chairman JKPSC told JKNS, “Dates have been scheduled. We don’t have time; it is not possible to change the date, and all arrangements have been finalized. Now, students have the choice to choose one exam in which they are comfortable,” Arun said.

This statement has further angered aspirants, who questioned why the government should decide which exam they should apply for. (JKNS)
