J&K Services Selection Board Cancels Withheld Recommendations for Sub-Inspector Posts
In a significant update, the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has announced the cancellation of withheld recommendations for two candidates under the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) category, for the position of Sub-Inspector in the Police (Home Department).
As per the notification dated 11th February 2025, the candidates affected are Mr. Vishav Pratap Singh, a resident of Kalakote, Rajouri, Jammu, and Mr. Parveen Kumar, a resident of Kella, Udampur, Jammu. These individuals had initially been placed on the provisional selection list in 2021, but their final recommendations were withheld pending the submission of valid EWS certificates.
Despite multiple notices and extensions for the submission of the required documents, the candidates failed to produce the necessary EWS certificates within the cutoff date. As a result, the JKSSB took the decision to cancel their recommendations, in line with the guidelines and following a comprehensive review.
The Board had previously issued notices requesting the candidates to submit the documents, with the final reminder issued on 9th September 2024. However, given that the required documents were not provided in time, the decision was made to cancel the candidates’ inclusion in the selection list.
This move highlights the importance of adhering to documentation requirements in competitive selection processes, and candidates are encouraged to stay updated with the official notifications for any future opportunities.
