JKBOSE Announces Revised Schedule for Annual Regular Examinations 2024
In a recent press release, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has unveiled a revised schedule for the Annual Regular Examinations 2023-24, focusing on Classes X, XI, and XII in the Hard Zone areas. The revised schedule introduces significant changes, including alterations in examination timings and the introduction of two shifts for certain classes.
According to the announcement, the 10th Annual Regular examinations for Hard Zone areas will commence from April 4, 2024, at 10:00 am in the morning shift. Similarly, the 12th class examinations for the same zone will begin from April 8, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the evening shift.
Moreover, the revised schedule includes adjustments for the 11th class examinations in Soft Zone areas, which will now start from April 2, 2024, at 1:00 pm. In contrast, the 11th class examinations for Hard Zone areas are rescheduled to commence from April 22, 2024, at 10:00 am.
The changes in the examination schedule were prompted by various factors, including a directive from the Joint Chief Electoral Officer, UT of J&K, Jammu, regarding the schedule for the Lok Sabha Election 2024. Additionally, the National Testing Agency’s communication regarding the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2024, scheduled from April 4 to April 15, 2024, contributed to the decision. Moreover, numerous representations from students advocating for the rescheduling of JKBOSE exams were considered in formulating the revised schedule.

The board emphasizes that all stakeholders, including principals, overall in-charges, superintendents, exam staff, students, and parents, must meticulously adhere to the revised schedule. Teachers are urged to inform their students promptly about the revised dates and timings to avoid any confusion, ensuring that examinees reach the examination centers punctually.
Furthermore, the overall in-charges are tasked with ensuring the correct distribution of question papers at the designated centers and times. Special responsibility lies with the Sub/Branch officers of JKBOSE for disseminating the revised examination schedule in Hard Zone areas.
