National Scholarship Portal (NSP) Open for Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships for SC Students
The Government of India, through the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, has opened the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships for SC students.
Eligibility:
- Pre-Matric Scholarship:
- Students belonging to the SC category studying in classes 9 and 10 in recognized schools.
- Parents’/guardians’ annual income should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakhs.
- Students whose parents/guardians are engaged in occupations involving cleaning and prone to health hazards (no income limit criteria).
- Post-Matric Scholarship:
- Students pursuing courses in recognized schools/colleges from class 11 onwards.
- Parents’/guardians’ annual income should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakhs.
Entitlement:
- Pre-Matric Scholarship:
- Academic allowance ranging from Rs. 3500 to Rs. 7000 per annum.
- 10% extra allowance for Divyang (specially abled) students.
- Post-Matric Scholarship:
- Compulsory non-refundable fees (including tuition fee).
- Academic allowance ranging from Rs. 2500 to Rs. 13500 per annum.
- 10% extra allowance for Divyang (specially abled) students.

How to Apply:
Eligible students should have a valid mobile number, Aadhaar (UID) number, Aadhaar seeded bank account, income certificate, and caste certificate. They can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal at https://scholarships.gov.in/.

Important Notes:
- The scholarship is open to students from Assam, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur, Meghalaya, Puducherry, Punjab (for Pre-Matric only), Sikkim, Tripura, and Uttarakhand.
- Students from other states/UTs can apply on their respective State Scholarship Portals.
