NEET 2024 Answer Key PDF Download, Cutoff Marks (Q, R, S & T)

The table below brings the category-wise NEET cutoff marks of last year.

The Biology section was the easiest section in the question paper for NEET 2024. This section comprised 90 questions, which was segregated into questions from Botany and Zoology. The experts stated that the Botany section was tougher than that of the Zoology section. On the other hand, the Zoology section was mostly asked from the Class 12 syllabus. Maximum questions were asked from the Human Physiology topic and the Ecology section had the lowest weightage.

There are also several other institutes which have released or are in the process of releasing the NEET answer key 2024.

Since the NEET 2024 exam was conducted in 24 sets, hence it takes time to prepare answer key for all sets. Many coaching institute will be able to release the unofficial NEET 2024 answer key by May 6, 2024 upto 5:00 PM.

No, for those exam centres where student came out of the exam hall due to wrong distribution of question paper, the exam was started again there and it completed sucessfully everywhere. Hence

NEET 2024 exam will not be conducted again in any exam centres.

The Chemistry section was a balanced mix of physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry. The questions ranged from straightforward factual questions based on direct concepts from the NCERT textbooks to more application-based questions. The highest weightage was given to ‘Organic Chemistry: Some Basic Principles and Techniques. Out of 50 questions, nine were numerical-based, seven involved matching the following, and five were statement-based.

This year, the Physics questions were mostly numerical-based, which required a strong conceptual understanding. Questions were from Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Optics and Modern Physics. The exam included direct MCQs, match the column, assertion and reasoning, and statement-based questions. Notably, 30 per cent of the questions were numerical based.

According to the experts and students, the NEET 2024 exam difficulty level was moderate to tough. The Physics section was the toughest and the Biology section was the easiest. The Chemistry section was of moderate difficulty level. The Physics section had questions mostly from the numerical portion. In the Chemistry section, Inorganic Chemistry portion was the easiest. Some of the common topics were Human Health and Diseases, Human Reproduction, Plant Physiology, Chemical Bonds and Semi Conductor. Some of the questions were very lengthy which caused several candidates to leave out some questions.

Several reports and social media posts are indicating that the NEET 2024 question paper may have been leaked. However, NTA has quashed the rumours and stated that apart from an isolated incident at a Rajasthan centre, where wrong medium of question paper was distributed, the exam was conducted successfully all over.

According to Shiksha.com experts, the Physics section was the toughest section in NEET 2024, but as compared to last year, it was easier. The questions were mostly numerical-based. Hence, students who prepared the numerical or calculations portion of Physics will score well in this section.

According to experts, concentration and focus are key factors to get the answers correct as the difficulty level of questions was easy to moderate. Getting nervous and confused would have led candidates to lose marks.

NEET cutoff 2024 will be determined based on the following five factors:

• Total number of candidates who appear for the examination
• Difficulty level of the examination
• Performance of the candidates
• Number of seats available
• NEET cutoff for previous years

To score maximum marks in a competitive exam like NEET you need to make sure following points:- Firstly, knowing all the concepts. Secondly, you’ve practised a good number of questions in a specific time so that you can manage to complete your exam within the given time. Thirdly, attempt the paper strategically – avoid negative markings by attempting only those questions for which you know the answer – don’t waste your time on questions you don’t know – attempt short questions first and also the scoring subject should be solved first.

The NEET 2024 tie-breaking criteria are given below:

1. Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by,
2. Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Chemistry in the Test, followed by,
3. Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Physics in the Test, followed by,
4. Candidate with less proportion of the number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the Test,
5. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by
6. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Chemistry in the Test, followed by
7. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics in the Test.

While the total number of NEET 2024 questions is 200, candidates will have to attempt 180. They have to choose 10 out of 15 questions in Section B of each subject, namely, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

No, there is no negative marking scheme applied for unattempted questions in NEET 2024. Hence, if a candidate has left out a question and not marked any of the answer options on the OMR sheet, NTA will neither deduct nor award any marks for that question.

To calculate the marks scored by a candidate after solving the NEET question paper, use the following guidelines:

• Count the total number of answers that are correct x 4
• Count total numbers of answers that are incorrect x 1
• Now use the following formula to calculate your marks

Example: Out of 150 attempted questions, you got 100 correct.

Marks scored = (100*4)-50 = 400 – 50 = 350

*Note that no marks will be deducted for the questions that have not been attempted by the candidate.

In case there are multiple answers marked for one answer, in the NEET answer booklet, there is a chance that the answer will not be considered for evaluation, even if one of the selected answers is correct. Hence, candidates are advised to be careful in marking the answers on the OMR sheet of NEET 2024.

The total number of questions in NEET is 200. Out of this, candidates will have to attempt 180 questions. While all 35 questions are mandatory in Section A of each subject, in Section B, 10 out of 15 questions have to be attempted.

The unofficial NEET 2024 answer keys will be released by experts from top coaching institutes right after the exam is concluded. On the other hand, NTA will release the provisional answer keys on or before the first week of June 2024.

The NEET 2024 exam pattern or the question paper pattern is explained below.

• Section A consists of 35 questions in each subject (Question Numbers – 001 to 035, 051 to 085, 101 to 135, and 151 to 185). All questions are compulsory.
• Section B consists of 15 questions in each subject (Question Nos – 036 to 050, 086 to 100, 136 to 150, and 186 to 200). In Section B, a candidate needs to attempt any 10 questions out of 15 in each subject.
• Candidates are advised to read all 15 questions in Section B of each subject carefully before they start attempting the question paper. In the case of a candidate attempting more than 10 questions, the first 10 questions answered by the candidate will be evaluated.

After the release of the NEET answer key 2024, candidates have to calculate the marks for NEET. They have to implement the formula given below:

Total marks scored in NEET = (Total number of correct answers * 4) – Total number of incorrect answers
