Weather Update in Jammu & Kashmir: Light Rain & Snow Expected at Intervals Till Jan 25

The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a detailed weather outlook for Jammu and Kashmir, indicating fluctuating weather conditions over the next two weeks, with periods of cloudiness, light rain and snowfall, especially over higher reaches of Kashmir and parts of the Jammu region.

According to the forecast, there will be a gradual rise in minimum temperatures from January 12 onwards, bringing some relief from the intense cold wave currently gripping the region. However, dense fog is expected to persist in the plains of Jammu division, which may affect road, rail and air travel.

Weather Forecast for Jammu & Kashmir (Jan 11–25, 2026)

January 11 to 15

The weather across Jammu and Kashmir is expected to remain partly cloudy. No major precipitation activity is predicted during this period, allowing normal outdoor activities and travel.

January 16 and 17

The region will experience generally cloudy skies, with light rain and snowfall likely at isolated to scattered places, particularly over higher reaches of the Kashmir Division. Popular tourist destinations and mountainous areas may witness fresh snowfall.

January 18 and 19

Weather conditions will remain partly to generally cloudy, with no significant precipitation expected across most areas.

January 20

Skies will turn generally cloudy once again, with light rain or snowfall expected at isolated locations across the Union Territory.

January 21 to 23

January 24 and 25

The weather is expected to improve, remaining partly cloudy across most parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Temperature Trend: Cold to Ease Gradually

The MET Centre Srinagar has indicated a gradual rise in minimum temperatures from January 12 onwards. This means that the intense nighttime cold currently affecting the region is likely to ease slightly, although winter conditions will continue to prevail.

Fog Advisory for Jammu Division

A weather advisory has been issued for the plains of Jammu division, where moderate fog is expected, with dense fog at isolated places likely to continue for the next five days.

This may lead to:

  • Reduced visibility on highways
  • Delays in train and flight schedules
  • Slower traffic movement during early morning and late-night hours

People travelling through Jammu plains are advised to drive carefully and follow traffic advisories.

Public Advisory

Residents, tourists, and commuters are advised to stay updated with the latest weather bulletins, especially those planning travel to higher reaches of Kashmir and Ladakh, where snowfall may impact road connectivity.

Farmers and horticulturists should also take precautions to protect crops and orchards from frost and fluctuating temperatures.

RRB JE, Paramedical & Technician Exam Dates 2026 Released – Check Complete CBT Schedule Here

0

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially announced the Computer Based Test (CBT) schedule for Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA), Paramedical, and Technician posts, bringing clarity to thousands of candidates preparing for these highly competitive examinations. As per the latest notice released on the official RRB websites, the JE/DMS/CMA examinations will be conducted on February 19, February 20, and March 3, 2026, while the Technician Grade-I (Signal) and various categories of Technician Grade-III exams will take place from March 5 to March 9, 2026. In addition, the Paramedical categories CBT has been scheduled from March 10 to March 12, 2026, ensuring a well-structured and phased examination process across different posts.

To help candidates plan their travel and exam preparation smoothly, RRB has also shared details regarding exam city intimation and admit card release. The exam city and date intimation link along with travel authority for SC/ST candidates will be activated 10 days before the final exam date of each candidate on the respective regional RRB websites. This facility allows candidates to check their allotted exam city well in advance. The e-call letters (admit cards) will be made available four days prior to the exam date mentioned in the city intimation link, and candidates are advised to download and print them in time to avoid any last-minute issues.

RRB has issued important instructions regarding identity verification and Aadhaar authentication at exam centres. Every candidate must bring the same original Photo Identity Document that was mentioned in the application form; failure to do so will lead to disqualification from appearing in the exam. Moreover, even candidates who verified their Aadhaar during application submission must ensure that their Aadhaar remains in an unlocked status in the UIDAI system. This is crucial because Aadhaar-based authentication is used for registration and verification at the exam venue, and a locked Aadhaar could cause inconvenience or even prevent entry into the examination hall.

Candidates who wish to view or download the official exam schedule can do so easily by following a few simple steps. They need to visit the official website of their respective regional RRB, click on the JE, Paramedical and Technician Exam Dates Notice link available on the homepage, and open the PDF file containing the detailed schedule. After checking their respective exam dates, candidates should download and save the file and keep a printed copy for future reference, especially for planning travel and revision schedules as the exam dates approach.

With the release of this detailed examination timeline, aspirants now have a clear roadmap to intensify their final phase of preparation. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official RRB websites for updates related to exam city slips, admit cards, and any further instructions. Separate links for checking JE exam dates, Paramedical categories exam dates, and Technician exam dates have also been provided by RRB on their portals, making it easier for candidates to stay informed. Keeping track of these updates and following all guidelines carefully will ensure a smooth and stress-free examination experience.

The Railway Recruitment Board has released JE, Paramedical and Technician exam dates. Candidates who will appear for JE/DMS/CMA, Paramedical and Technician posts can check the schedule on the official website of regional RRBs.

As per the exam date notice, the JE/DMS/CMA posts exam will be held on February 19, 20 and March 3, 2026. Para medical computer based test will be held from March 10 to March 12, 2026 and Technician Gr.I Signal & Various Categories of Technicians Gr.III will be held from March 5 to March 9, 2026.

The link for viewing the exam city and date and downloading of travel authority for SC/ST candidates will be made live 10 days prior to the final exam date of the candidate for respective CEN’s on the official websites of all RRBs for all posts. The call letters will be available about 4 days prior to exam date mentioned in exam city and date intimation link.

The candidate must bring their same Photo Identity Document in original as mentioned in the application, failing which the candidate is not allowed to attend the exam.

Candidates, including those, who have verified their Aadhaar during the application submission stage, are requested in their own interest to ensure that their Aadhaar account remains in unlocked condition in the UIDAI system before coming to exam centre to avoid inconvenience to individual and facilitate smooth registration and exam-related processes on the exam day.

JKBOSE Class 10 Result Delay Leaves 95,000 Students in Uncertainty

0

Srinagar, Jan 10: As the Government is yet to appoint the chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE), the results of the 10th and 12th standard examinations held last year are getting delayed.

Secretary BOSE, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, told Excelsior that the result of the 10th standard is ready for last one week and 12th standard is getting finishing touches and will be ready in the next few days.

Sheikh said that they are waiting for the appointment of chairman of the BOSE so that the result can be declared. He said that the result can’t be declared without appointment of chairman.

The Secretary said that the result committee of the JKBOSE has six members and it is headed by the chairman and his presence is mandatory for the declaration of results.

“As soon as the chairman is appointed, the result of the 10th class will be declared,” he informed.

As per officials, around 95,000 students appeared last year in the Class 10 annual exams across 994 examination centres in Kashmir and winter zone of Jammu region.

Of the total candidates, 68,804 are from the 10 districts of Kashmir Division, while 25,224 belong to the winter zone areas of Jammu Division. In addition, 660 students from Kargil and 95 from Leh wrote the exams.

Students are eagerly waiting for their results and many parents said it is mentally distressing for both the students and parents.

“It’s very stressful to wait without any clarity. For last week we are being told that the result is ready but has not been declared so far,” said a Class 10 student from Srinagar.
