Unlike previous years, the NTA will administer the exam for all 83 subjects on a single day.

MANDATORY DOCUMENTS

Candidates must bring the following items to the exam centre:

  • A printed copy of the admit card.
  • A valid government-issued photo ID.
  • Two passport-size photographs (matching the one uploaded during registration).

UGC NET EXAM FORMAT AND ELIGIBILITY

The UGC NET exam is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and is held twice a year, in June and December. The exam comprises two papers, and the awarding of the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/or eligibility for Assistant Professorship depends on the aggregate performance in both papers.

Candidates qualifying only for Assistant Professorship are not eligible for the JRF award. They are governed by the rules and regulations of their respective universities, colleges, or state governments for recruitment as Assistant Professors.
