J&K Weather Update April 2025: Rain, Snow & Thunderstorm Forecast Issued by MET Centre Srinagar
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued an important J&K Weather Update for April 18–28, 2025, warning of significant weather activity over the next few days. Residents, travelers, and especially farmers are advised to take note of the following weather forecast and advisory to ensure safety and make necessary preparations.
Weather Forecast: 18–28 April 2025
- April 18–20: The region is expected to remain generally cloudy with light to moderate rain and snowfall, particularly over the higher reaches. There is also a possibility of moderate to heavy rain/snow at isolated to scattered locations during April 18 and 19. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are likely to occur starting from the evening of April 18 through the late night of April 20.
- April 21: Weather will remain generally cloudy with chances of light rain or thunder at scattered places.
- April 22–28: The weather is expected to remain generally dry, providing a respite after the earlier spell of active weather.

- All stakeholders are urged to plan their activities as per the weather forecast and follow official administrative and traffic advisories closely.
- Farmers are strongly advised to suspend all farming operations from April 18 to 20 due to the risk of rainfall and possible thunderstorms.
- There is a significant risk of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas during the rainy spell.
- Residents are advised to stay indoors during thunderstorms and lightning for their safety.
