AICTE Launches Special Scholarship Scheme for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Students
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced a special scholarship scheme for students from the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The scheme, named the Special Scholarship Scheme for the Students of Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh (SSSJKL), is part of the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Yojana.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Students who have passed their Diploma in the academic year 2023-2024 from the J&K Board of Technical Education are eligible to apply.
- The scholarship is available for admission to engineering streams only.

Financial Assistance:
- Selected students will receive a maintenance allowance of up to Rs. 1.00 Lakh per annum, payable in ten equal installments.
- The allowance can be used to cover expenses such as hostel, mess, books, stationery, and other incidentals.
- The academic fee payable to the institution will be capped at Rs. 1.25 Lakh per annum.
Application Process:
- Online registration for the academic session 2024-25 will open on August 14, 2024, for lateral entry admission (2nd year).
- The last date for registration is August 21, 2024.

Important Note:
- Students who are already enrolled in any other scholarship scheme or are beneficiaries of the SSSJKL and Ladakh scheme are not eligible for this scholarship.
