The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the Special Scholarship Scheme (SSS) under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Yojana for students belonging to the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh for the academic year 2025-26. The scheme is designed to support students who have completed their 10+2 education from JKBOSE or CBSE-affiliated schools located in these regions during the 2023-24 or 2024-25 academic sessions. The scholarship provides financial assistance across various streams: up to Rs. 30,000 per annum for general degree courses, up to Rs. 1.25 lakh per annum for professional courses such as engineering, nursing, pharmacy, and law, and up to Rs. 3.00 lakh per annum for medical and equivalent courses. Additionally, students will receive a maintenance allowance of Rs. 1.00 lakh per annum, disbursed in ten equal installments. The registration process for the scholarship begins on May 1, 2025.
Interested candidates must register by visiting the nearest Facilitation Center, with document verification commencing on May 6, 2025, at the Facilitation-cum-Document Verification Centers (FDVCs). The last date to apply is May 30, 2025. The list of FDVCs and other essential details are available on the official AICTE website. It is important to note that students currently receiving benefits from other scholarship schemes, such as the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), are not eligible to apply for this scheme.
